The LIVE Online Global Academic Internship Programme (GAIP) with the STMI @ National University of Singapore (NUS) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) brings the rigorous, collaborative, action-learning experience of our in-person internship online. Over 12 weeks, you will learn and work with a global team of curious learners and tech innovators carefully selected by Corporate Gurukul to build and deliver value through innovation.

 

The GAIP is a hands-on, short-term academic internship conducted by Corporate Gurukul, Singapore in association with and certified by the Strategic Technology Management Institute (STMI) at the NUS and HPE Education. GAIP enables engineering undergraduates from universities and institutes of higher learning in Asia to level up by pursuing their passion and interest through internships and project-based learning in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and IoT.

 

Internship on ‘Data Analytics using Deep Learning’ as part of GAIP focuses on and is focused on hands-on real-world projects. 90% of our alumni have polled that 80% of the curriculum is new and aligned to MS abroad or research careers in Data Science and AI.

Dr. TAN Wee Kek

Senior Lecturer

Dr. TAN Wee Kek is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems & Analytics at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He is also a Fellow of the prestigious NUS Teaching Academy. He graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Systems in July 2013 and a Bachelor of Computing in Information Systems (1st Class Honours) in July 2007, both from the National University of Singapore. Prior to this, he attended Singapore Polytechnic and graduated with a Diploma in Computer Information Systems with Merit in July 2001.

 

His current primary research interests focus on consumer-based information technology (e.g., online decision aids, social computing, virtual worlds and consumer cloud services). Most of his research is based on design science, a well-established problem-solving paradigm that has been widely adopted in information systems research. His current secondary research interests focus on information systems education.

 

His work has been published or is forthcoming in journals such as Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (JASIST), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS), and Journal of Information Systems Education (JISE). Dr. LEK Hsiang Hui

Dr. LEK Hsiang Hui is a Lecturer at the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at National University of Singapore (NUS). He graduated with Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Computer Engineering and PhD in Information Systems from National University of Singapore.

 

He currently teaches undergraduate courses in Enterprise Systems Design and Development courses. He also conducts executive training in Healthcare Analytics at the Centre of Health Informatics (CHI).

 

He has won the University level Annual Teaching Excellence Award for AY 2015/16, AY 2016/17, AY 2017/18, and placed on ATEA honor roll for AY2018/19. In addition, he has also won the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (FTEA) for AY2014/15, AY2015/16, AY2016/17, and placed on FTEA honor roll for AY2017/18.

 

Dr. Amirhassan Monajemi

Dr. Amirhassan Monajemi is a Senior Lecturer in AI and Data Science with the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Before joining the NUS, he was with the Faculty of Computer Engineering, University of Isfahan, Iran, where he was serving as a professor of AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science. He was born in 1968 in Isfahan, Iran. He studied towards BSc and MSc in Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), and Shiraz University respectively. He got his Ph.D. in computer engineering, pattern recognition, and image processing, from the University of Bristol, Bristol, England, in 2005. His research interests include AI, Machine Learning, Machine Vision, IoT, Data Science, and their applications.

He has taught artificial intelligence courses, including AI, Advanced AI, Expert Systems, Decision Support Systems, Neural Networks, and Cognitive Science since 2005 at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He was awarded the best university teacher in the province in 2012. He also has studied Learning Management Systems, E-Learning, and E-Learning for workplaces since 2007.

Dr. Monajemi has registered a few patents in the fields of AI, Machine Vision, and Signal Processing applications, including an AI and machine vision-based driver drowsiness detection system and low power consuming spherical robot. He also has published more than a hundred research papers in peer-reviewed, indexed journals and international conferences (IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, and so on), and supervised several Data Science, IoT, and AI industrial projects in various scales, including Isfahan intelligent traffic system delivery and testing, and red light runners detection. He is experienced in different sub-domains of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, from theory to practice, including Deep Learning, Logic, and Optimisation.

Mr. Shantanu Pandey is a technology consultant who has worked on AI engines, systems, applications and portals for clients like TaxiForSure, OneIndia, CultureMachine, TableConnection, Canara Bank, HotWatch and more, with mix and match of tech. He has been training at NUS, Singapore for last 3 years conducting courses on AI, Machine Learning and IoT.

His passion for programming started at the age of six with C++ in the hope of developing games, and the awe of science has pushed him since then. After his stint with Microsoft, he got excited about the start-up ecosystem and eventually started his own company. He has also been associated with NUS and Corporate Gurukul and trained more than 10,000 students worldwide.

What is the last date to pay for the registration fees?

The payment deadlines will be mentioned in your ‘Offer Letter’. You are eligible for the ‘Offer Letter’ only if you are selected.

Your application is automatically cancelled due to non payment of fees by the specified deadline. Any extension requests are at the sole discretion of the admissions department and availability of seats. You will be required to send an email to contact@corporategurukul.com requesting for an extension* and the reason for delay in payment. *Extension requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to your payment deadline

Issuance of all certificates and the LoE will be at Corporate Gurukul’s discretion subject to:
a. the participant’s performance
b. completion of assignments and
c. 90% attendance during the academic internship

Where are the hands-on sessions conducted?

  1. The hands-on sessions are conducted LIVE Online in Zoom.
  2. Laptop with the specifications mentioned in OFFER LETTER is MANDATORY for all participants.

In the past batches, about 10% of students have secured grade O or A+.

The cohort size per batch is a maximum of 85 participants. The number of batches during the programme will be subject to the number of enrollments.

Yes, incase of multiple batches in a particular programme the faculty profiles will be different. The same will be shared post your batch is confirmed.

No. The entire academic internship is delivered LIVE Online.

Yes, you will be assigned teams for project work and assignments. These teams typically consist of 4-5 members.

No, the team members are assigned by Corporate Gurukul team in consultation with the professor(s). They are created keeping in mind the pre requisite readiness and a proper mix of students from various institutions. Any request for choice of team member will not be entertained.

All assignments and projects will be submitted on the Learning Management System, Acadly.

  1. Assignments will be given daily and need to be submitted as per specified deadline.
  2. You may be required to work on the assignments in teams or individually as per the nature of assignment.

You are required to complete two projects during the duration of the programme. This will be done in teams.

The project presentations will be conducted post HPE and NUS sessions.

Participants will be assessed based on the following components:

  • Continuous assessment (MCQ Quizzes) - 30% weightage
  • Test (MCQ) - 20% weightage
  • Project Assessment - 50% weightage

Yes, both HPE and NUS sessions will be graded. They are graded individually.

MCQ Quiz will be conducted every day during the afternoon session.

Any late submissions of project, assignments or quizzes beyond specified deadline will carry negative marks.

Participants may independently, on their own initiative meet Professor(s) with prior appointment. Corporate Gurukul’s participation or GAIP should nowhere be mentioned for such interactions are outside the scope of GAIP.

What is the last date to pay for the registration fees?

The payment deadlines will be mentioned in your ‘Offer Letter’. You are eligible for the ‘Offer Letter’ only if you are selected.

Your application is automatically cancelled due to non payment of fees by the specified deadline. Any extension requests are at the sole discretion of the admissions department and availability of seats. You will be required to send an email to contact@corporategurukul.com requesting for an extension* and the reason for delay in payment. *Extension requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to your payment deadline

Issuance of all certificates and the LoE will be at Corporate Gurukul’s discretion subject to:
a. the participant’s performance
b. completion of assignments and
c. 90% attendance during the academic internship

Where are the hands-on sessions conducted?

  1. The hands-on sessions are conducted LIVE Online in Zoom.
  2. Laptop with the specifications mentioned in OFFER LETTER is MANDATORY for all participants.

In the past batches, about 10% of students have secured grade O or A+.

The cohort size per batch is a maximum of 85 participants. The number of batches during the programme will be subject to the number of enrollments.

Yes, incase of multiple batches in a particular programme the faculty profiles will be different. The same will be shared post your batch is confirmed.

No. The entire academic internship is delivered LIVE Online.

Yes, you will be assigned teams for project work and assignments. These teams typically consist of 4-5 members.

No, the team members are assigned by Corporate Gurukul team in consultation with the professor(s). They are created keeping in mind the pre requisite readiness and a proper mix of students from various institutions. Any request for choice of team member will not be entertained.

All assignments and projects will be submitted on the Learning Management System, Acadly.

  1. Assignments will be given daily and need to be submitted as per specified deadline.
  2. You may be required to work on the assignments in teams or individually as per the nature of assignment.

You are required to complete two projects during the duration of the programme. This will be done in teams.

The project presentations will be conducted post HPE and NUS sessions.

Participants will be assessed based on the following components:

  • Continuous assessment (MCQ Quizzes) - 30% weightage
  • Test (MCQ) - 20% weightage
  • Project Assessment - 50% weightage

Yes, both HPE and NUS sessions will be graded. They are graded individually.

MCQ Quiz will be conducted every day during the afternoon session.

Any late submissions of project, assignments or quizzes beyond specified deadline will carry negative marks.

Participants may independently, on their own initiative meet Professor(s) with prior appointment. Corporate Gurukul’s participation or GAIP should nowhere be mentioned for such interactions are outside the scope of GAIP.
